Later on, he served as Lead Consultant with Oxfam (Novib) where he developed leaders in the Civil Society of Somalia and South Sudan. While at Rhone Poulenc and Oxfam he was sent overseas to study, learn, and benchmark in Japan, France, Netherlands, United Kingdom. He is the Chairman of KIM's OPI-Company of the Year Awards (COYA), Consultant Champion of Governance Award (COG) Consultant at ICS, founding Lead Consultant of Somalia Business Awards (SABA). Sultan Amri is a Fellow of the Kenya Institute of Management, Member of the Institute of Directors, Member of the Institute of Directors Member of: the Institute of Directors, Public Relations Society of Kenya, and Professional Trainers Association of Kenya. He holds a BSC Honours degree local and international certificates in Governance, ISO 9001 Lead Assessor, TQM Japan, Certified Co-operative Professional, Strategy and project management, Finance for Non-Finance Persons, among many others.
